Set against the backdrop of Women’s History Month in March, PeacePlayers United States Girls Summit, in partnership with Nike, will convene 26 inspiring young women involved in our programs across PeacePlayers cities nationwide.
Led by elite PeacePlayers coaches, our girls will enjoy an unforgettable experience, engage in leadership development sessions, experiential career readiness programming, and establish connections across cities, and create cherished memories along the way.

PeacePlayers is using the sport of basketball to build peaceful and thriving communities. For over twenty-three years, PeacePlayers has used basketball to bridge divides and develop leaders in countries affected by conflict and inequity. As a result of PeacePlayers’ efforts, youth in South Africa, the Middle East, Northern Ireland and the United States are gaining the tools and resources to influence lasting change in their local communities.
In 2017, PeacePlayers partnered with Nike to bring the organization’s model to the United States, where it added a heightened focus on equity and engaging girls. PeacePlayers United States – which currently operates year-round programs in Baltimore, Brooklyn, Chicago, Detroit, and Los Angeles – uses sport, conflict resolution and leadership education to connect youth to new experiences and opportunities, and to help them work together to form solutions to pressing issues facing our communities. As an additional response to inequity, PeacePlayers United States also provides young people with skills, opportunities and resources that will help them succeed in their professional and personal adult lives.
