Patrick FG Ambassador 2

I was born on St Patrick’s Day. That’s why I’m called Patrick. I’ve always lived in the same house in Belfast with my mom, my dad, my two brothers and my sister. My dad’s someone who’s been a major influence on me, because he always puts people first, and just cares about everyone. The job I want to do one day is becoming an electrician or doing joinery.

Q: What's the one thing that you'd want people to know about you?

I'm very loud. If people aren't really talking, I’ll start a conversation. I'm just a very loud and out there person.

Q: Do you have a special talent that most people don't know about?

I'm very good at science, and fixing things around the house.

Q: Who's your hero? Why?

My dad. He’s very smart. Oh, and he’s a nurse. He’s a district nurse, so he goes around to people’s houses if they need help with anything.

Q: What do you think are the most important attributes of a leader?

They need to be easy to talk to and have a clear goal in mind for what they want to do.

Q: What are you most looking forward to about Friendship Games?

The Dead Sea. I’m excited for the sun, and to see what the culture’s like, and to see Jerusalem and all the history.

Q: Will it be your first time on an airplane? In another country? If so, what are you looking forward to about visiting another country? How do you feel about traveling abroad without your family?

No, I’ve been to England before, but it’s my first time outside of that. My brother Eoin’s going too, so… but without the rest of them, I think it will be fine.

Q: Is there anything you're nervous or unsure about going to the Friendship Games?

Just meeting lots of new people, and the food. I’m not sure about the food.

Q: Why do you think PeacePlayers wants to bring together 130 young people from around the world?

Well, PeacePlayers is all about bringing cultures together, and getting people to talk to each other, see how they’ve lived their lives, and what they’ve had to go through and bring them all together.

Q: If you could do anything you wanted when you grew up, what would it be/what's you're biggest dream for the future - for yourself, for your family, for your community?

I’d want to go to a different planet. It would be kind of fun just to find something cool on a different plant… like aliens. And for my family, if I’d make lots and lots of money, then I’d share it out between them all. For my community, there’s lots of fighting and people doing stupid things, I’d just want them to calm down. It’s really stupid. A lot of people don’t even know why they’re doing it. It's just, like, between the Protestants and the Catholics, they’re from different religions and they don’t really like each other.

Q: What's it like in your city/town/neighborhood? How would you describe it to someone who's never been there?

There’s a lot of history, a lot of historical buildings. And Game of Thrones was filmed here. There’s also a thing called Napoleon’s nose that if you look at it from a certain angle, it looks like a face, which is quite cool. A lot of people stick to their own groups. They don’t really try to mix with other people.

Q: If you could time travel for one hour, where would you go? What would you do?

I’d travel into the future, don’t know when, but just to see how technology has evolved from what we have now and all of the capabilities.
