Why Sport?

In the 1950’s Muzafer Sherif, a social psychologist first described superordinate goals a solution to intergroup conflict. Putting youth from opposing groups on the same basketball team, positioning them towards a common goal has proven space for these youth to break down barriers, begin to heal, and bridge divides.
